Our 2024 Blog ⇔ (Clicking on photo galleries is supposed to reveal the entire caption, and you’re supposed to be able to click from image to image. On my computer, I can see captions only if I hover the mouse over the tiny image for a second, and if I click I just see one photo, then have to “exit” or use the back arrow to get to another photo. WordPress normally looks pretty good, but it certainly isn’t easy to use/update. Drives me crazy. If you know how to fix this problem, contact me!)

Thanks for visiting wp.krigline.com. Sorry I don’t often find time to post updates. Sometimes I squeeze in some pictures, looking back at the end of the year. But you can check the “latest posts” block to see what is new, and remember that I also post resources at EFLsuccess.com.

By the way, we love to connect with old friends! When IFM’s Friday program meets “in person” (during the school year) I’m usually there (in-person, not online), but in the summer old friends may be able to chat with me during IFM’s weekly Friday night Zoom gathering (see sidebar graphic). Even if I’m not online, please visit! Everything is always free, and everyone is welcome. From 7:30-8pm, guests talk casually with American volunteers who enjoy meeting our international friends; after 8, there’s an English lesson. The meeting ID and passcode are always the same, or you can write to the address shown for more info.

After attending a conference at Ridgecrest, NC, we decided to add a little vacation in the Smoky Mountains. I’ll start with some photos, and try to return soon to add captions! Part of the purpose was to visit places where I had served as minister in 1981, and part was to find out if our new Maverick could pull a camper. If you look under “reviews,” you can see more photos of my hike on Google.maps.

We also spent a wonderful day in Dollywood, a family-friendly amusement park near the Smokies.

July 2024

Vivian and I had a great trip in July, visiting friends and associates in Philadelphia, Boston and Maryland. We saw a dozen lighthouses, and visited glorious Acadia National Park in Maine. (It was on our “bucket list”, and it should be on your too if you like natural beauty!) Here are some favorite photos.

We timed our trip to Portsmouth so that we could take a rare lighthouse tour by ship. The reward was great photos and some nice commentary about the life of lighthouse keepers–a hardy lot whom we should all be grateful for! All US lighthouses are not “automatic,” using LEDs and other modern technology.

In February, we visited three countries we had never visited before. The primary purpose was to help lead a conference in Malaysia. Sorry, no time to add captions now–maybe later!
