Family – Friends – Places – Memories: our photo albums
Few things are as precious and durable as our memories. Our “blog” is a running post of our lives and pictures, and sometimes our thoughts about something important. Via the drop-down menu under the “photos” category, we invite you into our memories of special gatherings, trips, events or places; you can also learn about the people we love.

Here’s the view of sunrise from our home in South Carolina (2019). One of the guys who replaced our cloudy windows said we are blessed to be among the few who can look “out” from their home in Columbia.

If you view this full-size on a computer, you’ll get a 180-degree view out our Mongkok sitting-room window at dusk (2018). Indeed, “the view” was a big selling point, and answer to prayer, since most apartment windows present only a view of other apartment windows.

View of Gulangyu (Xiamen) from our balcony (2014). [OK, we had to put our faces up to the bars and pretend lots of nearby buildings weren’t there; but I never tired of the beautiful view!]
What camera do we use? My oldest pages contain very primitive small photos (Largan Digital, 1999), but photos got bigger as we got better digital cameras (Kodak CX6330, 2004; Canon A630, 2007; Kodak Z885/Fuji F40fd, 2008; Canon SX230 in 2011, Nikon D50 in 2013; from there we moved to refurbished Apple iPhones). The 1999 Largan took photos that were approx 373px x 249px; then we increased size to 640×480; 850×568; and currently (2020) 1100×735. In the past few years, more people started viewing the site on a phone than on a computer, but phones are also much more powerful and clearer with each passing year.
Note: Photo size affects how fast the pages load. Some photo pages take a while to load if you have a slow connection or older device, so please be patient (especially if you are in China or other places where Internet access is tightly controlled).
